The Orwell Art club, previously the Rangers Art Club was established during 1947 in Ipswich and led by the celebrated artist Cor (Cornelius ) Visser (1903-1932).

Cor was a dutch artist who spent much of his time living in and around Suffolk using a wide range of mediaincluding woodcuts, drawing, watercolours, charcoals etc. Cors work included portraits, plants, animals coastal and landscapes.

Cor becamE involved in teaching and helping local artists and that ethos continues to-day in the Orwell Art Club.

The Orwell Art club provides members and non members the opportunity to meet discuss and experience art in it's variety of forms and mediums meeting monthly in Ipswich from September to June providing a range of Guest speakers and demonstrators.

 

In addition the Orwell Art Club organises a summer outdoor outdoor drawing /painting programme and access to professional workshops covering all media.

 

The club also offers the opportunity to display and sell works via the Orwell Art Club Online gallery and annual exhibition.

professional members can provide private tutoring.

 

membership Annual subscription £30.00

For non members the fee is £5.00 per meeting however if they join on the night that meeting is free.
